Being born and raised in various coasts in Florida, Lenell “Crab Boss” Watson practically grew up on seafood. His grandfather was also a master chef so Crab Boss was able to learn the tricks of the trade in the kitchen at a young age.
After moving to the DMV in 2014, Crab Boss felt an itch that he needed to scratch. Though Maryland is known for its crab, he couldn’t find the style of seafood that he had grown accustomed to in Florida.
So he did what most entrepreneurs do. He ‘scratched his own itch’ and started doing food truck style ‘pull-ups’ in various locations around the metro area.
His charisma on social media combined with his addictive Crab Boss Sauce has caused a frenzy in the DMV. So much so, that he recently opened up the Crab Boss Crab Shack in Brandywine, Maryland. Many local celebrities, like recording artist Ginuwine and former Washington Redskins running back Clinton Portis, make regular appearances at the Crab Shack to get their fix.
